Nestled in the Omboroko Mountains on the stunning Waterberg plateau, Okonjima is home to the AfriCat Foundation, which is now the largest Leopard and Cheetah rescue and relocation programme in the world. Staying at Okonjima allows you to experience a glimpse of the fascinating work undertaken and guests are invited to visit the various animal projects, including tracking cheetah and leopard by vehicle and on foot.

The Main Camp is the original homestead and is based around the farmhouse. The 16 rooms are dotted about the beautiful formal gardens and all guests have access to a secluded swimming pool. It is often used for clients who are on a self-drive package and is very reasonable.

The Bush Camp is a unique property that has 8 luxurious rondavels, all with stunning views out across the mountain range and a new Bush Suite which has been elegantly designed using a wonderful mix of colours. It also boasts a 180-degree view, sliding glass doors, a fire-place to take the chill off the desert air and a private verandah from which to watch the sunrise.

There are also two other bush suites which are set apart and are perfect for groups of four or families (children must be over 8yrs). Whilst staying here guests have the use of a private vehicle, guide and also a chef who will prepare your meals and look after your every need. One of the queen-sized beds can be rolled out onto a private terrace so you can sleep under the stars Ð a very memorable experience.
Prices from £471 per room per night full board.
