Victoria Falls Zimbabwe - this two-night adventure departs in the morning and slowly meanders westwards through Mafikeng into Botswana and then north towards Mahalapye, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn just after Gaberone. Once the train has passed through the dry reaches of Botswana the train arrives at Plumtree in the late afternoon for border fomalities with Zimbabwe. The train then continues in a north-westerly direction passing Bulawayo heading towards Thompson's Junction and Hwange Game Reserve. The journey ends at Victoria Falls on the mighty Zambezi River.

 Thursday

 

 

 1000 hours:

 

Depart Rovos Rail's private Capital Park Station, Pretoria aboard the 'Pride of Africa'.

 1300 hours:

 

Lunch is served enroute to Zeerust.

 1930 hours:

 

After traversing the Magaliesberg Range, dinner is served as the train heads towards Mafikeng for border formalities.

 

 

 

 Friday

 0700 hours:

 

Breakfast is served in the Dining Car(s).

 1300 hours:

 

Lunch in served in the Dining Car(s).

 1700 hours:

 

Border formalities at Plumtree.

 1930 hours:

 

Dinner is served in the Dining Car(s).

 0700 hours:

 

Breakfast is served in the Dining Car(s).

Dinner is served as the train heads towards Lobatse.

 2300 hours:

 

Arrive at Mafikeng for border formalities.

Train departs Mafikeng.

 0700 hours:

 

Breakfast is served in the Dining Car(s).

 1300 hours:

 

Lunch is served in the Dining Car(s).

 1600 hours:

 

A short stop at Centurion where the Rovos steam engines take over the haulage of the train.

 1700 hours:

 

Arrive at journeys end, Capital Park Station in Pretoria.
