It is operated by Royal Indian Rail Tours Limited which is a joint venture between well known Cox and Kings and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation. There are four itineraries of either 7 or 8 days. The 'Princely India' and 'Royal India' explore the West and will take you between the bustling city of Mumbai and Imperial Delhi. Along this spectacular journey you will visit Udaipur, known as the 'Venice of the East', famous for its lakes and palaces which in centuries past served as the homes of royalty, the colourful Rajasthan cities of Jodhpur and Jaipur, the Amber Fort and the magnificent Taj Mahal. You will also have time at Ranthambore National Park, a former hunting reserve, which is now home to India's most elusive predator, the majestic tiger. The 'Classical India' and 'Celestial India' journey between Delhi to Kolkata exploring the country's hidden treasures, meandering via the immortal beauty of the Taj Mahal, the erotic temples of Khajuraho and the sacred city of Varanasi. There is time to take a cruise on the spiritual River Ganges and to explore the wilderness of Bandhavgarh National Park. The luxury train has 23 coaches allowing a total of 84 passengers to travel in style and there is a choice of accommodation from deluxe carriages through to the presidential suite. There are two fine dining restaurants serving only the very best local cuisine and also an Observation lounge for pre-dinner drinks as well as after dinner games.
